I've spent hours on the phone daily with SBC Yahoo DSL and
AOL braodband techs and even paid Compaq for technical
assitance, but no one can help me solve the following
problem: Whenever I click on certain links or attempt to
visit certain websites (I never know when this will happen
unless I've previously atempted to visit the site/click
the link) I get error messages such as these:

When on Internet Explorer: Microsoft Internet Explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvience. Error Report Data:
AppName:iexplorer.exe
AppVer:6.0.2800.1106
ModVer:5.50.4134.600
Offset:0013e306
ModName::mshtml.dll

When on SBC Yahoo DSL: Ybrowser has caused an error on
MSHTML.DLL. Ybrowser will now close.

When on AOL for Broadband: Simply disconnects with no
error.

Please help me, this probelm interfers with my school
internet lessons and my general web surfing and I am in
desperate need.

You have two broadband connections? That could be the problem right there.
I would try using only one of your connections and see if the problem still
occurs.

Your crash details show that you have an incorrect combination of modules.

Try visiting the Windows Update site to see if it offers you the IE cumulative
security update.

If that doesn't help post back with more details about your maintenance history.
I'd be curious in any case to know how you managed to get part of IE6sp1
and (what appears to be) part of *base* IE55.

FYI you can enter the following script fragment in your Address bar to capture
the Update Versions: line from IE's Help, About menu item.

javascript:navigator.appMinorVersion

(Note: property name is case sensitive.)
