Please help!! I can not run shortcuts as maximized,minimized or normal.

I do not know what has happened, but i like to open desktop shortcut folders as maximimized. I right click and choose maximized...nothing changes. I wonder what is wrong? Any ideas would be great.

This sounds an awful lot like the problem I'm having, except the problem only
happens with certain programs.
