PLEASE HELP!!! Can't Run MSBlast.exe Repair

M

Matthew

I have been trying to run the Symantec MSBlast.exe
program since yesterday. It seems to run smoothly but
then it will crash. It crashes due to a file inside one
of the internet temp directories which has a 200+
character file name. I found the file, but when I try to
delete it, I get File not found error. When I try to
rename it the system does nothing. How do I delete this
file ??

Please help!!!!

try this one

http://www.europe.f-secure.com/v-descs/msblast.shtml

although the removal tool link is incorrect ... it should be

ftp://ftp.f-secure.com/anti-virus/tools/F-Lovsan.zip

You don't want to run MSBlast.exe. This program is the
worm itself. The file you downloaded from Symantec is
named "FIXBLAST.EXE" Run that program.

I searched the registry but did not find the file. I can
not put the file into a new folder. It just sits there.
I can't copy it, rename it, basically nothing...

Command prompt reports that File does not Exist. I can
not delete it or it's directory via Command Prompt.

I made a mistake, I am trying to run Fixblast.exe from
Symantec, but it crashes when it gets to the weird file
that can't be deleted.

Please help!!!
