msblast.exe ???

Im running xpsp1 home, running as client on my home
network - from task manager - msblast.exe is chewing up
my resources! The task manager says this program is
running constantly. Is this new since the blaster fix and
normal or other? The task manager says 'I/O Other Bytes'
slowly increases at the rate of about 10,000 bytes per
second. It is under user 'myself' not system or local
service. I recently reinstalled xp from the disc and
immediately was vulnerable (b/c still connected to
internet and restored old ooutlook files as well. (oops)
But anyway, any ideas? All is stable now but msblast.exe
runs continually. any help would be appreciated. thanks

It's not sufficient to install the blaster-fix. The fix won't remove
the worm!

Please install an up-to-date virus scanner or run an online scan which
is available at www.symantec.com or other vendors.

Ciao, Walter
