That BITS is a helper for downloads that is used by Windows Update
itself (among other things) and this new version will be needed in
future - especially if you try to get Service Pack 2 from there. I
would BTW not use that method for SP2 if you can possibly avoid it: The
amount to download will be far too much to be possible on dial up, and
there should be a CD distribution available, as well as an (even bigger)
complete download for those with broadband
