I am trying to make books for my disabled students. I want the slides to
change on a mouse click followed by the sound file playing on a second mouse
click. Students cannot touch nor pass the mouse over the sound icon but can
click the mouse. Please help.

Hi,

You'll need to change the sound files to wav files. Then you can add
objects and use custom animation for the objects to appear and play the
sound. If you don't want the objects to show, drag them off to the side of
the slide. When your students click on the mouse, the objects will appear
(but off the slide) and all they'll see/hear is the sound being played.

How about this:

For each slide:

Add a rectangle the size of the entire slide, set the action setting to
HyperLink To: Next Slide. Make the rectangle invisible by giving it no fill
and no outline.

That gives you a link to the next slide no matter where they click on the
slide, so a click should do it.

Now duplicate each slide.

Add a WAV transition sound to the second copy of each slide.

Now a click will advance to the first slide, another click will advance to a
copy of the same slide (so there's no visual change) but the sound plays.
