Simplest Possible Mouse/Pointer

I'm brand new to PowerPoint 2007, and I'm scheduled to give a presentation in
the near future. I'm creating my presentation to be as goof-proof as
possible.

I only want PowerPoint to work as (in essense) a Kodak slide projector with
a forward and back WITH ONE EXCEPTION:

I've got a bunch of exhibits that were introduced in court along with short
transcripts (Q and A's) by witnesses discribing what is on the exhibit. I
want to insert these sound files into the slides that go with the exhibit,
and I want to be able to play/pause/replay the sound bites while the slide is
on the screen (and with me pointing at what part of the exhibit the witness
is talking about).

What I've done so far on my computer screen is this:

1. Under "Animations" I've unclicked "advance slide on click" so that I
can't inadvertently go to the next slide.

2. Using "insert/Shapes" I've added action buttons for going to the next
slide and to the previous slide.

3. I added a sound icon to each slide and the sound icon is linked to my
sound clip. Under "custom animation," I've added the pause feature to the
sound icon so the sound clips can be paused and re-started.

I don't want to be looking down at my computer and clicking away during my
talk, and I want to be able to advance the slides and play the sound with
some kind of wireless mouse. MY QUESTION: what is the simplest kind that
would work for someone like me who is not that
hand-eye-computer-mouse-videogame saavy?

I saw one model on the internet that probably has the features I want, but
it involves using a thumb joystick to move the mouse cursor, and I'd screw
that up. I saw simple models with only a forward/back button -- not enough
function. There are others that look like they have lots of whistles and
bells -- maybe more than I need. What I'm looking for is a model with
forward/back and a programmable button that I could set to play the sound
when I clicked it.

Is there any model out there that would be simple to use yet have the basic
features I need?

Thank you.
