Playing simultaneous WAV files in a presentation

I created a presentation last year using an earlier
version of PowerPoint and was able to play narrations at
the same time music was playing. But I am not able to do
the same thing with XP. This must be a PowerPoint 2002
problem because I have tried to do it on different
computers running different Windows versions. I'm wanting
to start a musical WAV on the first slide and have
narrations come in on the other slides while the music
continues. Both the music and narrations are created on a
WAV editor separate from PowerPoint. From articles I've
read on the web it seems I should be able to do this. My
sound card will play two sound files at once, as I am
able to hear one of my PPT narrations while listening to
music on RealJukebox.

You could always incorporate the sounds together
with 'Sound Recorder.' As long as they are both in .wav
format you can combine them. There are other apps out
there that will do this, but sound recorder is easy & free
and more than likely on your computer already.
