Playing mpeg and avi movies in PowerPoint

Occasionally mpeg and avi movies will not play when inserted into PowerPoint.
They insert with no apparent problems, display the first frame, can be
edited, etc., but when clicked during presentation mode, the frame goes all
white and does not appear to play. Also, this occurs for these same movies
when "right clicking" and toggling on "Play Movie". These same movies files
have worked in the past!

Possibly a path length problem. Try placing them in a folder with a short
path eg C:\ppts and then reinsert them.
