playing movie files in movie maker

OK, I think this happened after installing some updates to Windows, but now
whenever I go and import movie files into Windows Movie Maker, I can't play
the files. The video doesnt load over to the right side preview window. So I
cant edit the video. Also, when I try to go Capture...the program preforms an
illegal operation lol.

This same thing is happening to me! We need a resolution to this problem :(
