Playing DVDs

When I load a dvd, it says that:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a problem occurred with
digital copyright protection."
Can I get help with this?

Is it a legitimate DVD you purchased?

Are you trying to output the DVD to a PC monitor or a TV? Did this problem
just occur? When was the last time you played a DVD correctly?

It is being outputted to a pc monitor. This has been going on for a while,
but yes, I was able to play them on my pc at one time. I had uninstalled
Power DVD some time ago. Could that have something to do with it?

You do have to have DVD decoding software installed on your PC.... PowerDVD
and/or WinDVD are the two most common. Without a version of one of these,
you can't play a DVD.
