planning to upgrade to DVD-ROM and a DVD writer, any suggestions?

I am planning to upgrade my CD-ROM drive into a DVD drive, and my CD-writer,
a DVD-writer
I have these specifications:

- Intel P4 at 1.4GHz
- 256 MB RDRAM
- 30GB Hard Drive
- Nvidia TNT2 Video card at 32MB
- Intergrated Sound
- 52X CD-ROM Drive
- 48x write/12x re-write/50x read

The reason that I'm upgrading to DVD is, I want to watch some DVD movies on
my computer. The CD-ROM drive I think - quite easy to upgrade. As for the
Video Card, do I need to upgrade my video card as well? If I upgrade my CD
drive into a DVD drive, will I be able to read regular CD-ROMs, Audio CDs
and CDs that boot automatically when I started up?

Also, what is the difference between DVD+R & DVD-R and DVD+RW and DVD-RW?
What brand of DVD-ROM and DVD-writer do you suggest?

If you have any questions, comments and/or suggestions, please do not
hesistate to do so. Thank you for your co-operation.
