Placing my own Jpegs in the C:\WINDOWS\Wallpaper\Web folder

Hi, I'm on Win XP Pro and I have found that when I browse for my own photo
to use for desktop wallpaper, it works fine but when I leave and come back
to check the list of wallpaper jpegs available, Windows does not always keep
my photo in the list. (Sometimes it does but I can't tell any logic behind
why)

So I've learned that the actual path to these windows wallpaper jpegs is
C:\WINDOWS\Wallpaper\Web

I have thus copied many of my own Jpegs photos into that folder so that they
"stay put" and I can now access them like the other standard wallpaper
choices.

So my main question is this: Is this dangerous? Am I dangerously tampering
with Windows to do this ? My files are all Jpegs, just like the standard
choices already available.

I just want to make sure - since maybe Windows has a size limit on that
folder or something. I appreciate any advice or assurance. Many Thanks,
Frank

No risk at all. You can also put them in your My Documents\My Pictures
folder and they will show up in the list of available wallpaper for your
desktop.
