Get Irfanview (free). It will set a pic in either pixels or inches, whatever
size you choose and when you convert one to the other you can see how many
inches or pixels it is.

Generally speaking, a 1 inch by 1 inch rectangle is 300 x 300 pixels (at 300
dpi)

bugger softwar, use primary school knowledge:
my monitor is 3 pix/mm
so
1 inch=25 mm results in 3x25=75 pic/inch
