Pivot table not alphabetizing correctly for one character

In Excell from Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional, after setting the
pivot table to sort in ascending values, the field is sorted for all values
except for one. This one lists at the top (or bottom if descending values)
of the pivot table no matter what I've tried. The following are some of the
field values: ALC, STC, NTL, DEF, LUC,MOL, JUN,SNO. When sorted, all are
alphabetized except JUN. That value always is at the top. I've checked the
original data, the query, and the excel data. All appear consistent and sort
appropriately, the pivot table will not. If I change the data to something
that begins with something other than J it appears to work. Can you help?

JUN goes to the top of the list because Excel assumes it's the month
name for June, and it appears in one of the built-in custom lists.

When you create a pivot table, and Excel detects an entry from a custom
list, it uses that list as the sort order. So, in your table, JUN sort
to the top, and the other items appear below, because they're not in the
Months custom list.

If you manually sort the list, JUN should move to the correct position
alphabetically. Or, perhaps you could add a space at the end of JUN in
the source table.
