Pivot Table default Value Field Settings

Hi

I use pivot tables a lot and the vast majoirty of the time I use it to sum
data. Excel defaults the Value Field Setting to Count so I have to change it
every time. Is there any way I can change the default to Sum?

If all the data in the field is numeric, then you'll see Sum.

If any of the data in the field is text (or empty!), then you'll see Count.

I don't think you can change this behavior.

But you can use Debra Dalgleish's pivottable addin to lots of stuff:
