Pioneer DVDRW DVR103 Sony Vaio

I have tried to upgrade the driver through Pioneer and Sony - Each time I
have done so it seems to go through the process of locating the target device
and at the end it gives me a message of a kernal does not match - 0 drives
updated successfully. I can't seem to get this DVD RW Driver updated - I
bought this computer with the DVDRW built-in - Sony wants to charge me to
deal with this problem - I can't believe I am the only one in the world with
this problem. Can someone please help?

What exactly is the problem? The drivers for your drive are included in
Windows. What you are probably trying to do is update the firmware.
There are many different versions of the Pioneer DVD Rom drive. The
firmware update you have may not be for the drive you have in your
computer. Does the drive work?
