Pinkish tint to Philips monitor

I have a Philips 109P4.

The monitor sometimes spontaneously decides to display in a pink tint.
Can sometimes happen switching screen modes. Strangely, the most
successful way of dealing with this has been to unscrew the rear
plastic casing and let it sit "loose". With some adjustment anyway as I
can create the tint at will by doing this moving the loose half of the
case around. So, that's how I leave it, unscrewed and with a gap
between the plastic exteriors.

Any idea what the problem is? I'm sure I read somewhere that this is a
common problem with Philip monitors.

I've had the same problem with another Philips monitor (Brilliance
105). Also with an IBM E54.

....yet it will periodically revert, requiring further "adjustment",
i.e. moving the case around. Might be due to temperature or
humidity(?).

you sure that it's pink?

magenta is what you get when the green gun goes off
