Pink Checkerboard on Monitor

Since installing Outlook 2007, my monitor has been malfunctioning. In
particular, from time to time I get a pink checkerboard pattern displayed on
top of everything else. The pattern lasts for a few minutes. The problem
has persisted despite 1) changing the monitor, 2) reinstalling Windows XP, 2)
reinstalling the driver for the video adaptor.

I have uninstalled Outlook 2007 to see if the problem surfaces. It has
been nearly a full day, and the problem has not resurfaced, suggesting that
the problem is being caused by Outlook 2007. Has anyone else has this
problem?

I am running Windows XP, through SP2, on a Dell 4550. The monitor is a
Dell E171FPb, using a Radeon 9500 Pro video adaptor.

Never mind. I take it back. I got the checkerboard pattern even with
Outlook 2007 uninstalled.

I had a blue checkerboard pattern. Turns out the fan had stopped working on
my video card. We had replaced the card but not the power supply and the card
burned out.
