Ping Problem

I am trying to connect an iBook G4 wirelessly to a PC running Windows XP through a d-Link DI-624 router
I am able to get Internet connection through the router, but I can not get the two computers to communicate
I can ping the iBook, from the PC.
But I can not ping the PC from itself or the iBook. The ping loopback is also lost
I am using Cox cable for Internet, but I do not think that matters
Network wizard did not seem to help
Why can't the Pc be pinged
Please help
Thank you in advance

It seems that when Norton Firewall 2002 is a problem. When I turned this off. I could have the PC ping itself and the loop back.
BUT I still can not get the iBook to ping the PC

When a computer can't ping itself, the cause is probably an
incorrectly configured firewall.

Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection Firewall on the
PC's local area network connection -- it's for use only on a direct
modem connection to the Internet. Details here:

Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp/ic_firewall.htm

Un-install (don't just disable) all firewall programs (ZoneAlarm and
Norton Internet Security, etc) on the PC. Then, go to Start | Run |
Msconfig | Startup and disable any remnants of the firewall. Reboot
and try pinging the computer again.

If that works, re-install the firewall and configure it to allow
access by computers on the local area network.
