Kelly,

I visited your website today and I think I downloaded some things and
used them that I don't like. I'm not sure though how to get rid of them or
how to change back to how it was before I downloaded them and used them. I
have the following ones downloaded and I'm not even sure what a couple of
them do (stupid me huh?)

1) dns (Registration Entries) - I can't quite remember what this one does.
I remember downloading back a few months ago or even longer, but not sure
why.

2) enabledisabletray (VBScript Script File) - I downloaded this one and then
clicked it a couple of times but I can't see any difference.

3) msconfigdisabled (VBScript Script File) - This one works just fine.

4) numlockenabledisable (VBSScript Script File) - This one baffles me too.
I wonder if using this one has screwed up my Num Lock light? It still won't
stay on all the time even after editing those two registry files.

5) pastitems (Registration Entries) - This one I've used but it won't clear
what I think it's supposed to clear.

6) sortordermenu (Registration Entries) - This one works fine too.

7) unreadmail (Registration Entries) - This one works fine too.

If you can help me here, it'd be appreciated. Thanks!!

"Stupid" hardly does it justice. This one's a keeper for
sure. And because you posted using your real e-mail
address, you'll be getting some things you won't like.

Is your name Kelly? NO!! Now go away.

I have warned many times not to download anything from anywhere, nevermind Kelly the SP2 patched face. One should only download tools or patches from Microsoft (for Ms products) or your computer manufacturer (e.g. dell, HP etc) or original software maker (Corel, Roxio, Nero etc). Who the fcuk is Kelly anyway? What experience has she got in programming. Does she know the proof of Riemann hypothesis established in 1895? She can't even patch her face properly.

Hi Mark,
Try doing a system restore at a point before you installed the entries.
However if you are going to be that cavalier with your registry you might
want to see this first.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download1267.html
It is a good tool and I would like to recommend it to you.

--
I use non Microsoft products wherever possible which requires no activation.

I use Netscape 7.2 as my default browser which has everything I need for my work.

I believe in good Financial Management!! I do not believe in enriching rich jerks!

I've done the system restore to yesterday, before these recent entries were
done. I can't restore back before the others were done, but that's OK since
I didn't notice any problems with those. I won't be using any of these
entries again, unless I know what they are and if they will work as they are
supposed to. Thanks for your suggestions.

Regards,
Mark

Whatever you say.

Hi Mark,

1. Be more specific.

2. This one either shows or hides inactive icons in the notification area.
Perhaps yours are already set to hide.

3. One of my favorites.

4. Clear and simple:

HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Keyboard\
InitialKeyboardIndicators

0 = numberlock off
2 = numberlock on

5. It clears the Past Items in the Notification Area/Customize.

You're an idiot. She's one of the most respected people in this
newsgroup and well known in the MS world.

Hi idiot (John Doe)

Kelly has been a very helpful person in this newsgroup.
Her site has lots of useful programs for people to use to
help them with their computers. I consider her to be very
trustworthy and respectful person, along with the other
very helpful, trustworthy, and respectful MVP`s that take
the time to help out others.

I wish I could, but I can't even remember what it does. No big deal though.

I know why, I wanted remove past items not hide inactive icons.
3. One of my favorites.

4. Clear and simple:

HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Keyboard\
InitialKeyboardIndicators

0 = numberlock off
2 = numberlock on

But when I go to that part of the registry and Modify the 0 to a 2 and Exit,
when I restart the computer it is back to a 0. The other part of the
registry didn't need to be changed as it was already a 2.
5. It clears the Past Items in the Notification Area/Customize.

I forgot to mention that I created the VBS Script file and placed it in the
Startup folder for All Users. So we'll see how that works.
