Ping.exe Error Code 65

J

Josh.

It has just happened to me recently that whenever I try
to ping anytihng other then the localhost(127.0.0.1)
loopback it says ping.exe transmit failed error code 65.

Anyone knows what this means?, I've been unable to find
any information on error codes for the ping utility.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Josh.

Error 65 is usually caused by a firewall program (ZoneAlarm, Norton
Internet Security, etc) that's misconfigured or incorrectly
un-installed.

If you've un-installed a firewall:

1. Re-install it.
2. Un-install it using the un-install procedure provided by the
manufacturer.
3. Reboot.
4. Go to Start | Run | Msconfig and disable any remnants of the
program.

If you currently have a firewall installed, start at step 2 above.
