Hello,

If I pin a shortcut to the startmenu, where does XP store this
information?

Is there a folder oder a registry key where these shortcuts are
stored?

The problem is, all the shortcuts I pinned to the start menu have
disappeared, if i knew where windows keeps this information, I could
check some older backups and restore these entries manually, the only
thing is, I don't remember all of the shortcuts I pinned to the start
menu during the last years, that's why I'm asking where to find them.

With a shortcut in this folder...
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

The above folder would be the easiest.

Also here...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Explorer\MenuOrder\Start Menu2\Programs
Value Name: Order

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Explorer\StartPage
Value Name: Favorites
Value Name: FavoritesResolve

All of those are REG_BINARY values and hard to read them.
