pictures trying to open in powerpoint - why?

When I am trying to open my pictures - it is trying to do so in powerpoint
automatically & then I get a message saying it can not open them (in bmp) -
why is it defaulting them to powerpoint?

Sorry this is the MS Access (the database program) newsgroup. Try a
newsgroup devoted to the program you are using. You should find people
better able to address your problem there than here.

You haven't mentioned the operating system you are using, which makes it
difficult to offer precise advice. Go to Help and look up a topic like
"Associating file types with applications". It will describe how to change
the file type of your images to open in the application you want to use for
them.
