Picasa alternatives?

For some reason Picasa doesn't work on my computer (there are other
applications too that don't work, I don't know why, I click the icon
and it doesn't start, just nothing happens). Does anyone know what
other applications I could use instead? Preferably open source ones?

No idea, as you didn't tell us what Picasa is and does. However, it
looks like you may have a problem with your systeem (processor? RAM?
OS?), as there are more recalcitrant applications.

XnView is neater than Irfanview for me.
