Photo Story 3 - differences when I play a story on my TV and compu

In the "Preview" window of Photo Story 3 I am happy with what I see. I then
save it to DVD. When I watch it on my computer (in Windows Media Player) it
is almost the same as the "Preview" window, but when I play it on my T.V. it
is very different eg. lines are not straight, quite a lot has been cut from
the sides and top and bottom etc. I will be showing my Story on a large
(projector?) screen, so who do I believe - the "Preview" window, the computer
or my T.V.? I want to get it right!

Also, what settings should I save the final, finished DVD in - for best
viewing on a large screen?
Thank you so much for any advice offered.

PapaJohn,
Thank you for responding to my questions - much appreciated!
I have been searching your website (and all you archived articles) for quite
a while now and have not come across any answers to any of my questions,
hence I joined this Discussion group today to see if others could help me.
Would you be so kind as to direct me specifically to the answers, as I have
had no luck finding them.
Finally, I subscribed to your Weekly Newsletter about 3 weeks ago hoping to
get lots of information on Photo Story 3, however the Newsletter is mostly
about Movie Maker of which I am not interested. I was of the understanding it
was a MM and PS3 publication, so would it be too much to ask that you give
even time to PS3 or my yearly subscription may end up being a waste.
Thank you very much.
Regards,
Cloe

Hi Cloe,

I'll go through your recent posts and comment on them individually.... maybe
later tonight.

I don't have a "Cloe" in my list of newsletter subscribers. You've browsed
my archived articles so you see the kind of subjects I cover. It's probably
easier and better for both of us if I give you a full refund than for me to
change the style and topices of my newsletters. Just send an email so I can
give the refund to the right person.

my website's Photo Story 3 > Saving page has a section named 'Heading to a
Disc'.... use one of the DVD profiles from there... either the one I made or
the one that JL4VIDEO uses.

TV viewing cuts off as much as 10% from each edge.... if that's what you
play your DVD on, you need to plan ahead for it. If you're using a projector
it would be different... maybe depending on the projector. Test it.

It's better to plug your computer into the projector rather than make a
disc.... you aren't limited to standard DVD video size of 720x480 pixels
(NTSC)... only constrained by the projector for size and computer power for
playback smoothness. In that case you wouldn't use a DVD profile when saving
the story.

Thank you for the suggestions - great!
However, I'm very new to all of this and I apologise for that, hence - what
do you mean by "wouldn't be limited to 720 x 480 pixels" and what profile
would I save it under, if not DVD?
I really appreciate you taking the time to assist a complete stanger from
half way around the world who is technically incompetent. Thanks.
