Photo Printing Wizard

Can anyone help me? I am trying to print photos to the original size 4" x
6". The printing wizard gives me this option however, it only prints the
photo 2" x 2 3/4" (3 quarters) but it has a background shadow which is infact
4" x 6".
If anyone could help I would be very grateful as wasting loads of ink!

Thanks

These are scans aren't they? Sometimes when
using the automatic option to scan an image the
scanner does not correctly detect the edges of
the picture.

In other words...you may have a scan that includes
a portion of your scanner glass. This would
account for the shadow.

On your "Choose Scanner Preferences" screen...
Left Click the "Preview" button. This will show
you a preview of the image you have in the scanner.

You will see a box with square handles in the corners.
If the dotted line does not precisely frame the scan
you can adjust the handles by left click / dragging them.

BTW...using this method...you can scan any portion
of the image you wish.

Also...you can click the "Custom Settings" button
and increase the DPI of the scan. 300DPI would be
a good choice.

Brilliant, many thanks John. I hadn't realised that by
clicking the preview button it enables you to adjust the
scan. My scanner was not detecting the edges of the
picture as you suggested and by clicking on the preview
button I have been able to scan perfectly.
Thank you for your help.

You're welcome, Claire.

Thanks for the update.
