When I used to hover over a photo icon Win XP would display the size
and
resolution of it and some other details, but lately all it says is
jpg!
Anyone know why this might have happened lately?
Here's the before and after, i.e. what it used to say and what it says
now.....

The details of what is listed in the InfoTip for image files is kept in
this Registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image
It follows the parameters explained in this article.... scroll down to
the section on multimedia files and images:
Customize Windows Explorer Tooltips

To add the default parameters for image file InfoTips in XP back into
the Registry, either manually add the correct info using the Registry
Editor, OR copy and paste the info between the asterisk lines below,
into Notepad, and save on the desktop as "ImageInfoTips.reg" (INCLUDING
the quotation marks so that it saves as a .reg file). Then right-click
the ImageInfoTips.reg file on the desktop, click Merge from the menu
that appears and click OK to the confirmation, to add to the Registry.
************copy between, but not including, these asterisks
lines************
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image]
"TileInfo"="prop

imensions;Type;Size"
"InfoTip"="prop

imensions;WhenTaken;DocTitle;DocComments;CameraModel;Type;Size"
"Details"="prop:Name;Type;Dimensions;Size;Write"
************end copy ... do not include the asterisks lines***********
Be sure you include the blank line at the end of the copy/paste, or the
registry Editor will not include the last line of text when merging!
Note that there are 3 lines for the values, the lines starting with:
TileInfo, InfoTip, and Details. If your newsreader wraps those three
into more than three lines, you will have to unwrap them when saving.
