Photo Gallery doesn't list my installed HP Laserjet 1600

I have an HP Laserjet 1600 printer installed my machine running Windows Vista
Premium Home edition. This printer is set as my default printer and can be
used by every other program installed on my machine except Photo Gallery.

When I use the drop drown printer list in Photo Gallery my printer is not
listed as an opotion, and when I have tried to re-install printer from within
Photo Gallery I get an error message telling me it cannot complete the
installation, even though it does add a secondary printer profile into the
printers window found under the Control Pannel.

Have you checked HPs website for an updated driver that could possibly fix
the current problem you are experience?

Hi,

See if this method helps:

1. Close Windows Photo Gallery.

2. Click Start, type REGEDIT.EXE and press {ENTER}

3. Navigate to the following branch:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
|_Software
|__Microsoft
|___Windows
|____CurrentVersion
|_____Explorer
|______PhotoPrintingWizard

4. From the File menu, choose Export, and save the branch to a .REG file. (This .REG file is your backup.)

5. Right-click "PhotoPrintingWizard" and choose Delete.

6. Exit the Registry Editor window.

7. Re-open Windows Photo Gallery, and see if the printers list is regenerated.

Thanks Andre and Ramesh for your feeback. I did look at both options and
neither one worked.

HP doesn't seem to list any software upgrades and when I modified the
registry is simply re-populated with the old list .

Anyone have any other suggestions?

No clue. If the printer is listed in this branch, then WPG should take it automatically.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
|_Software
|__Microsoft
|___Windows NT
|____CurrentVersion
|_____Print
|______Printers

See if deleting the printer (from the Printer Control Panel) and re-adding helps.
