Phone tools & restarting windows XP in safe mode

2 questions:
1: I'm missing the phone tools file on my comp, anyone know how i would go
about installing it ?
2: I tried using the provided steps under "help" in restarting my comp in
safe mode, but it seems the steps provided are not for my system. I'm using a
gateway micro tower with windowsxp home edition.

Don't really know which phone tools you might mean, but Safe Mode isn't too
hard.

start/run, type: msconfig
see Boot.ini tab, see checkbox for "/Safeboot"

when done, just uncheck, and it will start normally.
