PHONE RINGS AND COMPUTER BOOTS UP

I've been using Windows XP(internal phone modem) for 2 years now.
However, for the last 7 days, if my computer is shut down, it automatically
boots up when the telephone rings.

I have ensured the "device to bring computer out of standby" in Phone&Modem
options is not "checked".
I have also ensured the modem option to boot up computer in BIOS is disabled.
I have even "disabled" the modem in Phone&Modem option.

But nothing seems to stop my computer from booting up when the phone rings.

Anyone have any ideas?
