phone dialer

My understanding is that you need a modem card to be able to get the phone
dialer to work in outlook contacts. At my office we will be moving over to a
VoIP phone system is there any way to make the dialer work with a VoIP system
is there any VoIP system protocol that I could ask for?

Outlook uses the Windows dialer for placing calls. I don't believe the
Windows dialer has any provision for voice modems or VoIP.

Hi Mark,

As Brain said, whatever it is a voice modem or VoIP, they are all the same
to Outlook and thus no changes needed on Outlook client side.

But usually VoIP solution provider will install some CRM applications on
your system, and dial from the CRM application is recommended. For more
information, please consult your VoIP solution provider.

Hope this helps!
