Philosophy question for Browser plugins

Hello,

Our organization currently supports two different browsers: Mozilla and
IE. I am in charge of upgrading both of these browsers and their
plugins. My question is how do most people deal with the maintenance of
the plugins. Do you create MSIs that are dependent on the versions of
the browsers that you have installed or do you have a more generic MSI
for each of the plugins and create transforms based on what version you
have?

I do not recommend installing the plug-in by wrapping it in an MSI, as
there are many disadvantages to doing this.

How are you deploying the plug-ins? Maybe there is an alternate way to
accomplish this task.
