Browser plugin help

Hi,
I need to create a simple plugin for both internet explorer and
firefox browsers, all it will do is check what the url of the browser
is.. Does anyone know where i can find help on this? and if it is
possible to write one code that will be good for both types of
browsers? Thanks

Hello,

I don't think it is possible to write a add-on/extension that works on both.
Firefox and Internet Explorer use different mechanisms for toolbars.

IE Extension Development forum.

A Bookmarklet may work in both IE and FF browsers. Don't forget also
Netscape 8... Its the real FF killer.
