Personal Settings Gone

My personal settings on the Administrator Account have gone away.

Now nothing that I loaded is visible - should I use system restore?

Well system restore points are gone too.
Any suggestions?

Did you add a new user account to the system? If yes, the account you were
using was the builtin Adminstrator account and the disappearance is normal.
To access the account again, press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice at the welcome
screen. In the small window that appears, type "Administrator" for the user
name (or if you renamed the account, type that in instead) and then enter
the password to log on.

The account is intended for troubleshooting instead of everyday use which
is why it disappears. You can force it back on to the Welcome screen using
TweakUI for XP -OR- create a new everyday account for yourself. It can be
in the admin group if that's what you prefer. Then transfer your personal
settings and files over.
