Persistent Application Event Log error

WoofWoof

Every time I start my system I get the following error recorded in the
Application Event Log:

"WMI ADAP was unable to process the PerfDisk performance library due
to a time violation in the open function"

Event ID is 61

Can anyone tell me what this means, is it harmful and how do I go
about resolving it?

I had this problem also, and finally found this solution:

First look at the Process ID of the WinMgmt.exe process in the Window
Task Manager (the "PID" column)

Then, in the Start - Run box, type:

winmgmt /clearadap

Then type:

winmgmt /resyncperf -p XXX
(Where XXX is the PID of the WinMgmt.exe process)

The whole thing only takes a few seconds. I rebooted after that (jus
to see if it was really fixed) and it had worked.
