permission to view RRAS settings

I'm investigating an RRAS problem, and when I try to expand the VPN server in
the RRAS MMC it shows up with a red X through it. When I try to view the
properties, I get an error message that says I do not have permission to view
the properties, although I'm using an account that theoretically has
permission, and has in fact accessed the MMC many times in the past. Any
ideas?

Is this Ras server registered with a domain controller? In case it is
registered with a domain controller then you can check the properties on
domain controller whether it allows to view the properties of the Ras
server. If it a standalone ras server, can you let us know if any events
recorded in the eventviewer for remoteaccess service?

the RAS server is the domain controller.... no events concerning RRAS from
the Event Viewer.

Users are still able to connect to the RAS server... I just can't view the
properties of the service or the server.
