Permission denied after upgrade!

Howdy,

I have a user that is using Office (Access) XP. The
initial install did not install most of the table
wizards. After installation of these wizards (under
Add/Remove programs/Change...), suddenly the user can't
open her Access file. The file "might" have been created
in Access 97, but the user has been able to open it fine
in Access XP up until the wizards were installed. Now the
user gets the message -

The current user account doesn't have permission to
convert or enable this database.

To convert or enable a database, ensure the following:
* You must join the workgroup that defines the user
accounts used to access the database.
* Your user account must have Open/Run and Open Exclusive
permissions for the database object.
* Your user account must have Modify Design or Administer
permissions for all the tables in the database, or it must
be the owner of all tables in the database.
* Your user account must have Read Design permission for
all objects in the database.
* Request that other users close the database.

HELP!!! Thank you!!!

After the reinstallation of Access XP, the assigned workgroup information
file may have been "reassigned" as the default workgroup information file,
System.MDW. If that's the case, then the user is now logged in as the
default user, "Admin," which may, indeed, not have enough permissions. If
the Access 97 database requires a secured workgroup to open it, then the
user will need to rejoin that workgroup and log in as a member of the Admins
group (or a user that has the necessary permissions) before converting or
enabling the database for use in the Access XP environment.

Does the user have multiple versions of Access installed on her computer?
(Microsoft doesn't recommend this, as there are several headaches to
overcome.) If you install Access 97 and Access 2K and don't take the
necessary steps to prevent each version from re-registering itself every
time you open that version, there's a "bug" that reassigns the workgroup
back to the default workgroup when switching back and forth between secured
Access 97 and Access 2K databases. I don't know if this is the case with
Access XP and other versions of Access, though.

HTH.
