Periodic "relaying denied" errors

Using OL2003. Remote office user with multiple mail accounts (1 for
business, 1 for home). Have configured on mail account to receive
mail using the ISP mail server (mail.xxx.net) and trying to send
emails using the ISP account (smtp.yyy.net). This seems to work for a
while, then all of a sudden will get a "Relaying denied message".
Tried to change so that outgoing requires authentication with proper
user id and password, but still get error. Only thing found that
worked was changing outgoing to be the same as incoming, then it works
for a while and eventually goes back to "relaying denied" error. I
will change the outgoing back to the smtp.yyy.net, then works for
awhile.
This is really fun to have to change back and forth, but getting a
little old now.

Any ideas?

You might try using the "log into incoming server before sending" option for
authentication. That's the one that will usually work when you're
periodically able to send.
