perfmon no longer shows Network Interface in objects list

I'm running Xp-home ed. Up until a couple of days ago, I had perfmon
plotting bytes rec/sec & bytes sent/sec. After a restart, those
counters were gone and so was the Network Interface object. Everything
else works fine. How do I fix this?

Thanks,

On the start menu there should be a small blue circle with a question mark
