Perflib error 1010 rasctrs.dll

Hi.
on w2k server sp4 i get Perflib 1010 on rasctrs.dll every
minute. If I disable the counter via Extensible Counter
List I "only" get the error every 22 minutes.

I tried:
-Disable via Extensible Counter List
-unlodctr, lodctr
-restarts, several
-reinstall of sp4

what now?
since the server seems to operate fine, can I disregard
this error? I'm not using RAS on this machine anyway. It's
just an SMTP-router.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Remote
Access\Performance to PerformanceOld
and the error has not returned yet.

Questions:
How do I make the conuter work, and what made it fail?
