I have AT&T high-speed internet, but whenever a connection times out, a
peoplepc popup happens, trying to connect me to the internet. Although I had
a tech person help me disable peoplepc software, I'm still getting a "dialing
peoplepc" popup whenever a connection times out. Can someone help me
disable the peoplepc popup? Thank you.

In Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options > Connections,
and specify "Never dial a connection".

Thanks to Steve Winograd [MVP] for the right answer. I was on the right
track, but didn't want to risk getting it wrong, because it might've created
more software problems for me. And as we all know, any minimization of
software problems is a good thing.

You're welcome, Chatelaine. :-)
