i have just upgraded from a 2000+ xp thoroughbred to a 2.8 amd athlon. i have an asusa7s333 mboard, using xp. it boots up ok, but when i go to cntr panel, system, it still shows the old pcu. what am i doing wrong?

You should check that he MOBO is capable of supporting the higher performance CPU.

If it is then look at the MOBO manual for the BIOS settings that need to be changed.

These may include manually configuring the system clock, FSB rate etc.

I'm sure you mean CPU (not pcu).

CPU = Central Processing Unit = the brain of the computer!
