RAM for A7N8X-X

I would like to upgrade my A7V-266 with its 1400 CPU. I actually
bought a 2600 T'bread PCU to upgrade the system but then discovered
the CPU was 333Mhz FSB so couldn't use it on that m'board.

Thought now the best path is to buy an A7N8X-X, and put the AMD
2600/333 processor in it. But the question is, can I then put PC3200
(400Mhz) RAM into it or must the RAM also be 333 Mhz to match the CPU?
Would prefer to buy 400Mhz RAM now of course...

Would appreciate clarity on this point...have never really understood
how important it is that the CPU and RAM frequencies match.

Would really appreciate any help.

PC3200 works fine with the 2600 and 2800+ on A7N8X-Deluxes that I built just
before Christmas. One machine runs memory at 166MHz, the other at 200MHz.
Both machines extremely stable.

Regards,

Pete.

Pete, thanks very much for the reassurance...I'll go ahead and get the
4PC3200 RAM.

Cheers,

Max
