PCI simple communications controller

Device manager shows the yellow marker on PCI simple communications
controller and driver not installed , so the modem won't work or be
detected. I replaced the old 1gigdrive with a newer 20gig drive and did a
fresh install of win 2000 and then recived this message. If I reinstall the
old drive the modem works fine, but not with the new install of 2000. I have
also seen this same error in device manager with 2 or 3 other systems that
should support modems. Any ideas.

Greetings --

"PCI simple communications controller," as you surmised, is
usually the term the OS applies to an unidentified modem. Have you
downloaded and installed the Win2K-specific modem drivers from the
modem manufacturer's web site?

I havent gone to thier site yet because the CD for the modem has Win2K
drivers on it. Maybe they have something newer, I will have to check.
