pcAnywhere Host Service & XP Professional

I am running Windows XP Professional SP1 on a P4 with 256MB of RAM. I am trying to use pcAnywhere on this machine as a host. However, when starting the pcAnywhere Host Service, it freezes and I must end the task. When the service starts, I see the pcAnywhere icon appear in the system tray. I can right-click on the icon and the menu appears but then it freezes. Event viewer shows Event IDs 7034 & 10005 on this service. Descriptions of these errors are below:
