PC won't boot

Hi,

Was hoping that someone might be able to help me out!
when I try to boot up my home pc I get a page come up that says something
along the lines of "soory for the inconvienience but windows did not start
properly ect ect" It gives me about 4 options like safe mode, start windows
normally but which ever one I try it takes me back to the same page. Is this
a problem I can fix myself (if so how) or will it be an expensive trip to the
local pc doctor?

Any help welcome
