PC will not shut down after upgade to XP PRO with service pack1

After upgrading to XP PRO with service pack 1 from Windows
ME the PC will not power down after selecting shut down.
Other than that no other problems and I really mean no
other Problems, could not ask for a better operating PC.
Restarts fine does every thing I though at it and I'm
pretty tough on a PC as far as things it does. 3GHZ w/H/T
(Intel)512 ram (PC 3200 -400 MHZ) 50 GB HDD. I'm going
crazy pretty compentent. ANYTHING........ PLEASE I almost
have to say it's the software but bios setup would not
surpise me.

the ram is DDR ram and the config on mother I know is
correct being DDR RAM.

I remained up last night to diag. some more things and
low and behold it ended up being the the mouse causing the
problem. The PC saw that it was still active and would not
let XP PRO shut down. I installed a mouse I had around the
house and problem gone yeah ha !!!!
