PC Use detection

I would like to know how I can track who has been doing what on my PC when
I'm not around. Can this be done without purchasing new software or will my
PC be able to tell me if I look in a certain place?
 
Do you normally allow others to use your PC? If you don't want them to, just
lock your workstation with CTRL+ALT+DEL. I'm assuming you're using 2000
Professional or XP here and that you've got an account with a password.
