PC USB 2.0 Cardbus

I am having a problem with my USB 2.0 PCIMCA Cardbus
working correctly. It seems to install drivers correctly
when plugged in. I am then plugging in a USB 2 external
hard drive into this but it seems to be slow and
crashes/freezes up system all the time? Do I need updated
drivers?? Running XP on Compaq laptop with Athlon
processor. Can anyone help

Yes SP1 this is installed. I am using the "O2micro
Cardbus controller" PCMCIA adapters. This may be giving
me a problem??
